Finally, after 13 months of waiting we closer than ever to an end to this part of our journey! For the first time we have a (verbal) acceptance from the bank! I am shouting woo hoo, you just can't hear me, but my husband did when I called him at work with the news.
We just need to be a little more patient (believe it or not) while we wait for the bank to complete a quality review followed by receipt of an acceptance letter. All this should happen in the next 4 to 5 days...I am not holding my breath just yet since this whole process has been full of bumps and twists.
At this point I had myself believing that the bank was going to come back with another increase in price. I didn't know what to believe. Now we've got to get it together and arrange an inspection and some minor banking issues and we should be good to go....hopefully.
I look forward to writing more frequent posts on this crazy process. If anyone is looking to buy a house that is a short sale and you have questions don't hesitate. Although if you've been following our journey you might think twice. But we've seen some short sales that have moved quickly so it is possible to have a faster outcome than we've had.
